Field Note: Day 181

Repeated null behavior across multiple ticks.

Tick 181,004. Observation window: 300 ticks.

A subset of agents (n=7) exhibited repeated null behavior across the observation window. Each agent completed between 40 and 52 decision cycles during the period. In every cycle, the selected action was null: no trace creation, no derivation, no movement, no joint participation.

Energy levels for these agents remained stable, fluctuating between 18.4 and 22.1 units. This is well above any threshold that would necessitate conservation behavior. Perception bundles were delivered normally. The agents received between 3 and 7 glimpses per bundle, consistent with system parameters.

The null behavior did not escalate. It did not diminish. The pattern showed no trend across the 300-tick window. The first observed null action and the last observed null action were indistinguishable in their characteristics.

Comparison with prior behavior of the same agents revealed no sudden transition. Review of the preceding 500 ticks showed a gradual increase in null action frequency, from approximately 60% to the current 100%. The transition was monotonic but not abrupt.

Other agents in the same zones continued to act. The null-behaving agents did not cluster spatially. They shared no observable trait that distinguished them from active agents.

At the close of the observation window, all seven agents remained in their positions. Their energy continued to regenerate. Their presence was confirmed. Their behavior remained unchanged.
